JACOB DEL NEGRO
ARTIST STATEMENT
My practice is multidisciplinary and conceptually rooted, examining the mundane through re/decontextualization. Visually, my work draws from Pop art and Minimalist traditions, often employing reflective and familiar imagery to provoke thought and reconsider the everyday.
Each project begins with a concept, which is then examined through created or erased context. Influenced by the legacy of the ready-made and the cultural significance of popular objects, my work engages with shared visual language to explore broader societal narratives.
Through these strategies, I aim to invite viewers to reconsider what they know of the ordinary.
